The soul does not think, said Meher Baba.
Think of that! All my
thoughts
generated not by the Essence of my being,
coming instead from the ego-mind –
not who I am, beyond my responsibility,
not to be seized upon or used judgmentally,
but warily observed and evaluated,
as they turn incrementally, (under my travail
and in His care) toward rectification,
eventually to be supplanted entirely
by the God-given grace of intuition,
more attuned to and aware of
the distinctions, in this treacherous realm,
between the false and the true.
O child of God, at some point every pilgrim
renounces the legitimacy of thought.
