Devoted inquiry

Devoted inquiry                                                                                          

All we have is His name.  And mindful remembrance

to draw nearer to Him.  And perhaps, devoted inquiry –

not from any acuity we might possess, but perhaps

useful in articulating our latent heart’s desire,

a personal extension of God’s inquiry – Who am I? 

The setting aside of earthly concerns,

the turning and narrowing of our will
from egocentric survival

to a God-centered exploration
of the One Eternal Source and Goal –

the only possible true purpose

(if there is one) of our existence.  

O child of God, outside the realm of duality,

inquiry is grace – another gift from God.
